1st Russell Vale Scout Troop is based in the Keirawarra District, South Coast and Tablelands Region, NSW Branch of Scouts Australia.
Our physical home is at Harry Henson Park in Corrimal, about eight kilometres north of Wollongong, NSW. That’s where you’ll find our Cubs and Scouts on Monday evenings – unless we’re out and about on one of our many outdoor activities. Either way, like all Australian scouts, we’ll be having fun, learning lots and earning our badges.
From 1974 until 2005, the our scout hall was located on land owned by Integral Energy in Russell Vale. After the land was sold during 2006, Integral donated $53,000 from the proceeds to Scouts Australia for the upgrade of the Mt Keira Scout Camp and our current home in Harry Henson Park, Corrimal.
The Russell Vale Scarf
Every scout troop has itsown colour combination for its scarf. Ours is green for the escarpment to our west and white for the sea foam to our east.
The scarf (or necker, neckerchief) is an essential part of the scout uniform, and almost constitutes a tool in itself.
Among its many uses, it can be used to signal, as a mouth mask, a belt, a blindfold, a tump line, a bag, a bandage and, of course, to identify the wearer as a scout or cub from 1st Russell Vale Troop.
You can read all about the scout scarf here: http://www.inquiry.net/uniforms/neckerchief/uses.htm.

Due to its growth our Group is currently seeking new leaders, particularly for the Scout section. The good news is that it's never been easier to become a Cub or Scout Leader! Support your kids, help the community, learn some new skills and have a great time. Please speak to the Group Leader for further details. Remember – it is YOUR Group and we need YOUR support.
